Entering Hong Kong in the Covid 19 season

Hi guys, hope you are all doing well..

This is my experience when I arrived in Hong Kong on June 27.

Once you arrive at the Hong Kong International Airport, there are officers who will guide you to go through the process (see below).

1. Firstly, at the time this post was written, only people with HKID (Hong Kong residents) are allowed to enter Hong Kong.

2. Download and fill your data on the Stay Home Safe app. Make sure your local phone/mobile number is on, cause the officer will call the number when they do the face to face verification. If you don't have a number, you can use your family/friends'. The quarantine address needs to be presented clearly. You can do the quarantine at home or at a hotel that offers quarantine service.

3. The next step is to go through immigration & take your luggage, but the process is not finished yet.  A shuttle bus will send you to the Asia World Expo, for saliva test. The result will be ready in 6-7 hours after they take the sample. Sandwich and mineral water will be provided during the wait.

4. If the result is negative, you can go to your quarantine place. In my experience, it took 14 hours from the landing time at 7.30am until I arrive at the quarantine place at 8.30pm.

5. Remember, once you arrive at the quarantine place, you can not go out of your room for 14 days. The quarantine officer will check you and the penalty for this is HKD25,000. And, also remember to bring whatever you think you will need them, like snacks, water, jacket, etc...
